On The Road

In the super-motorcycle almost-puppet On The Road, the animated matter consists of books, graphic notebooks and optical toys.

The mobile bookshop was born from the Livraria (Bookshop) Fonte de Letras, in Évora, and it is heading to Porto, to be played at FIMP.

The bookshop Fonte de Letras opened in 2000, in Montemor-o-Novo. It has grown and for 13 years it has established itself on the Portuguese bookselling scene.

In July 2013 a new chapter began in our history: Fonte de Letras moved its shelves, books and luggage for the most Babel street of Évora.

It is a general bookstore where we may find all new editions, but where special attention is given to small and rare publishers, poetry books, publications on Alentejo, children books… It has a regular cultural program and a small space for art exhibitions. A space where you can also drink coffee, tea or a glass of wine and taste the "literary" grilled cheese sandwich with tomato, olive oil and oregano.
In 2016, Fonte de Letras hit the road with the small mobile bookshop, the On The Road project, to take its books everywhere.
